Albstadt, September 18, 2026 – Due to the current economic and structural conditions, Groz-Beckert is unable to offer 33 trainees a long-term employment opportunity corresponding to their qualifications at the Albstadt site following completion of their technical training.

This affects trainees in the fields of industrial mechanics, mechatronics, and metal technology who will complete their training in January or the summer of 2027. The offer of one year of employment following the successful completion of their training will remain in place. However, permanent employment at the Albstadt site cannot be offered thereafter.

Support during the transition into working life
The trainees affected have been informed personally about the decision and the support measures planned. The decision is explicitly not a reflection of the trainees’ performance or commitment.

The support package includes, among other measures:

• Qualification and further training opportunities
• Support with job applications and active assistance in finding subsequent employment
• Alternative permanent employment opportunities at TKM companies at various locations in Germany and Austria

In addition, the trainees affected will have the option of agreeing to a mutually agreed termination of their employment relationship in return for a compensation payment.

Groz-Beckert’s aim is to work together with each affected individual to develop a sustainable professional perspective and provide the best possible support throughout their further career path.
For future graduating classes, the employment situation will be reassessed based on the economic and structural conditions applicable at that time.
